Co-Founder and President, Jemar Tisby, sits down with John Piper to discuss why the good pastor risks dealing with the controversial topic of racial reconciliation. The first thing that comes to his mind is “I like risk.” Watch his entire response below.
Note: We will release a new video every Friday. Check back each week for a new interview with Pastor John Piper.
wow…..this moved me. Challenges all of us to consider what it is that we harbour in our hearts that prevent us from seeing people first (God’s people), before we see race and every other thing we have been socialized to notice.
Thank you Dr Piper for being a living example of what it means to exercise faith in God’s sovereign power to provide, protect and correct while counting the high cost but going anyway (risk). I can only imagine the contentment of your full heart as you reflect on the years of God’s faithfulness to the desires he place in your heart as you went/go to a land that he would/will show you. Thank you for a more full biblical expression of what God has put in my heart as I read and learn the vast amount of truth that is so easily available to us now on the subject of the church and race. Thank you Jemar and Phillip for the work you do here at RAAN and your kind gentle yet firm approach that is so instructive to a some like me that want to understand. You know there is many who have hope in the continuing success of your ministry. We need this. The church needs your example.
