Why John Piper Risks Dealing with a Controversial Topic like Race?
In my small NYC metropolitan church we have a diversity that I quite often just take for granted just because it is the way we are, diverse. But every now and then when I look out and see a few of this or a couple of that and one of those, and how we just kind of sit wherever we are and know each others’ names and kids names and work and pray together and sing and worship together; I get kind of joyfully choled up and weep a little bit. India, Ecuador, Zimbabwe, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Korea, Poland, African American, Jamaica, Philippines, Russia and 4th and 5th generation white European-in a church of just about 50, a tapestry and we love it very, very much. Bless the Lord. We don’t always have this much of a diversity, but it has happened and continues to morph from one shading to another to another.
Thank you guys for this forum as further education for us that are eagerly seeking biblical answers to this seemingly complicated issue. We appreciate a view point from those who are existing examples of the gospel live out.
